Metal Forming Examples
Wood grain laminated metal reproduces the look of natural wood grain on its surface, making it a common choice for interior finishes such as door panels, wall panels, and elevator interiors.
Manufactured on a roll-to-roll (coil-to-coil) lamination line, laminated metal bonds the film tightly to the steel and can be formed from R-bends of varying radii to a full 180° 0T bending .
After forming, the film does not peel or crack and shows no stress whitening at the bend, keeping the wood-grain finish intact — well suited to interior décor, appliance housings, and other products where both shape and appearance matter.
Beyond bending, laminated metal sheets can also be punched, deep-drawn, roll-formed, and cut, among other forming processes; the workable methods depend on sheet thickness, film type, and product design.
Lienchy Metal supplies laminated metal sheet only; any subsequent forming is carried out by the customer or a designated fabricator.
If you have forming requirements, please share your drawings and specifications, and Lienchy Metal will help evaluate and select the right sheet for your needs.
Below are actual formed samples of B108 Walnut Grain and B103 Red Wood Grain laminated metal sheets:
Wood-grain laminated metal sheet Large-angle Bending — No whitening or peeling at the bend; Grain stays even.
Wood-grain laminated metal sheet 0T Bending — A 180° hem (fully flattened) bend test — The film stays tightly bonded without peeling.
Wood-grain laminated metal sheet 0T Hemmed Edge — After the sheet is cut, adjacent edges are finished with a 0T hemming; Edges and appearance remain intact.
Wood-grain laminated metal sheet 90° Hemmed Edge & Continuous Bends — After repeated bending, the film stays tightly bonded and the grain remains even at the bends.
