Effective date: 11 September 2026  ·  Last updated: 11 September 2026

What changed on 11 September 2026: Google Analytics now runs by default. You can turn it off at any time under "Cookie settings" in the page footer. Microsoft Clarity and the inquiry browsing trail still run only if you allow them.

1. About this Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Lien Chy Laminated Metal Co., Ltd. ("Lien Chy", "we", "us") handles personal data collected through this website.

1.1 Scope

This Policy applies to all visitors to this website. It does not apply to third-party websites we link to.

1.2 Prevailing language

This Policy is published in multiple languages for your convenience. The English version is the legally binding one; in the event of any inconsistency or dispute, the English version prevails.

This does not limit your rights: if you believe a translated version has misled you, please contact us using the contact details at the end of this Policy.

1.3 Changes

We may update this Policy. Where a change materially affects how we handle your personal data, we will publish a notice on this page before it takes effect. Continuing to use the website after a change takes effect means the updated Policy applies.

2. What we collect

2.1 Information you send us through the inquiry form

When you submit an inquiry, we collect what you enter:

  • Name, company name, country, email address
  • Telephone number and company website (both optional)
  • Your message, and any files you attach (PDF, JPG or PNG)

We also record the IP address the submission came from. This is used only to limit how many submissions can be sent from one source, so that the form cannot be abused to send bulk mail.

2.2 Information collected automatically when you visit

Our website is delivered by Cloudflare. To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare processes technical data including your IP address, the pages you request, and your browser's user-agent string. This happens on every visit and is necessary to serve the site and to defend it against attacks.

We do not build a profile of you from this data, and we do not use it for advertising.

2.3 Website statistics — Google Analytics (on by default)

We use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) to produce aggregate statistics about how the site is used — for example which pages are viewed, for how long, and which website a visit came from. It runs by default and places cookies on your device (names beginning with _ga). According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

You can turn it off at any time — untick "Website statistics" or choose "Reject all" in the cookie banner, or use "Cookie settings" in the page footer. It then stops loading, and the cookies it has already placed are cleared.

2.4 Behaviour analysis — Microsoft Clarity (only with your consent)

If you accept the "Behaviour analysis" category, we load Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation), which produces heatmaps and session recordings showing how pages were scrolled and clicked. It places cookies on your device and may record your IP address.

If you do not accept this category, Clarity is not loaded at all — no script, no cookie, no request to Microsoft's servers.

2.5 Inquiry browsing trail — only with your consent

If you accept the "Inquiry trail" category, we record, in your browser's session storage only:

  • The pages of this website you view, their titles, and how long you spend on each
  • The website that referred you to us (domain only — we do not keep the full address or search terms)

This is attached to your inquiry when you submit the form, so that our sales team can see which products you were looking at.

It is stored on your device, not on our servers, until you submit an inquiry. It is cleared when you close the browser tab. If you never submit an inquiry, it never reaches us.

2.6 Your choices

Your choices are stored on your own device (in your browser's local storage), not on our servers. They are not personal data we hold, and they are not shared with anyone.

You can change them at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the page footer — including turning Google Analytics off or withdrawing your consent. Turning a category off stops the relevant processing and clears the cookies already placed by that service.

2.7 What we do not do

To be explicit, we do not:

  • Load Microsoft Clarity or record your inquiry browsing trail before you consent
  • Use Google Analytics statistics to identify individual visitors, or combine them with the details you send in an inquiry
  • Look up your precise location or internet provider from your IP address
  • Use your data for advertising, or sell or rent it to anyone

3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis

WhatWhyLegal basis (GDPR Art. 6)
Serving and securing the websiteDeliver pages, block attacks and abuseLegitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(f)

Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object at any time — for Google Analytics, turning it off under "Cookie settings" is how you object. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time; this does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it.

4. Who else is involved

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with the service providers below, and only so far as they need it to provide their service to us.

  • Rectification — have inaccurate data corrected
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data
  • Restriction — ask us to stop using your data while a question about it is resolved
  • Objection — object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests
  • Portability — receive the data you gave us in a machine-readable format
  • Withdraw consent — at any time, for anything we do on the basis of consent
  • Complain — to your national data protection authority

7. International transfers

Lien Chy is based in Taiwan. If you contact us from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, your personal data will be transferred outside those areas.

Our service providers are located in the United States and operate global networks. Where personal data is transferred out of the EEA or UK, those providers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or on an adequacy decision.

8. How we protect it

  • All connections to this website use HTTPS; data is encrypted in transit.
  • The inquiry form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that submissions come from a real person rather than an automated script. This is a necessary security measure and is applied to every submission.
  • Attachments are limited to PDF, JPG and PNG, and are checked against their actual file contents, not only their filename.
  • Access to inquiry records is limited to staff who need it.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we do apply the measures above.

9. Children

This website is aimed at businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
